Hostile Environment

Hostile Environment is a collection of handbuilt ceramic artworks that explore the act of witnessing—how we see and interpret the people and world around us. Whether we can ever be experienced as we experience ourselves.

In these pieces, I contemplate the value of attention and the tension between urgency and helplessness.

The sculptures of the Hostile Environment series are tactile. Visitors were at the time of the exhibition in Helsinki, in 2024, invited to engage with the installations through touch.
