The “Intergalactic Ferry Project” is an audio installation, coupled with space poems and a ceramic scupture, that invites listeners into the fractured mind of the operator aboard the space ferry Nebula 371. Through a series of personal log entries, recovered by the Extraterrestrial Investigations Agency, visitors experience a metaphor laden narrative about self-discovery. The log entries echo the operator’s internal tug-of-war: the conflicting desire to fit in by letting go of certain parts of themselves, weighed against the liberating yet initially isolating experience of embracing their own emerging identity.
